This is for complete beginners or experienced sailors who wish to go yachting. The session is geared towards fun and is a gentle introduction to sailing and the wonderful Cork Harbour. View the stunning vistas from the sea like the town of Cobh with the Cathedral as a backdrop, Spike Island, Roches Point, Haulbowline home to our Navy and more........A fantastic session for both tourists and those who want to give yachting a go. Boat "Holy Grounder" is a Beneteau First 36.7. She is 36' long and has accommodation for 8 crew. She is spacious, modern and fast yet comfortable and forgiving!
Length of Course Three hours. Morning: 10:00-13:00 Afternoon: 14:00 - 17:00 Evening: 18:30 - 21:30. Call the office for availability.
Objective Gain an appreciation of what yacht sailing entails.
Location Cork Harbour
Equipment Included The Boat has full safety equipment, all nav. aids and powerful engines. The safety equipment includes lifejackets and harnesses for each crew member. Waterproofs are available on request.
What to bring Soft bag with change of warm clothes
Meals Coffee and cake or scones served on board.

Basic knowledge of sea terms. Introduction to steering. Introduction to sail handling. Introduction to ropework. Demonstration of navigation and pilotage.
