The International Certificate of Competence for Operators of Pleasure Craft (ICC) is issued through the offices of the ISA on behalf of the Irish Government. It was established under resolution No. 40 of the Working Party on Inland Water Transport for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

The aim of the ICC is to provide boat owners and people wishing to charter boats abroad with an internationally recognised document certifying their competence to skipper a boat for recreational use.

Boat 6.5m Excalibur RIB 120hp Mercruiser inboard diesel engine, 5.5 m Humber RIB 90hp Honda four stroke engine, 4m Narwhal RIB 15hp Honda four stroke engine.
Length of Course 1 day
Equipment Included Buoyancy aids. Waterproof clothing available for hire if required.
Syllabus

Boat preparation, launch & recovery, low & high speed manoeuvres, anchoring & docking, basic navigation, weather & coastal knowledge, safety. Personal, crew and casualty safety. Includes endorsements for planing, outdrive, outboard, console control and tiller control.

Pre Course Skills & knowledge to operate a powerboat in waters with which you are familiar, in daylight hours. Important note: you must be either an Irish citizen or permanently resident in Ireland (and visa compliant if applicable) to qualify for an ICC issued by ISA on behalf of the Irish government.
