This course sets you up as an independent sailor, in charge of your own boat. The course takes place under the careful and expert tuition of Eddie English and the SailCork instructors in the safe and sheltered water of East Ferry. By the end of this course you will be sailing on your own in light wind conditions without assistance from your instructor.

Boat SailCork's fleet of dinghies including single handers and safe specially built training boats to fast exhilarating racing dinghies. RS Vision 16, Raider 18, Walker Bay, Topaz, Topaz Duo etc.
Length of Course 10 days 10:00-16:30. Check in from 09:30. No access before 09:30.
Objective By the end of the course you will have a basic knowledge and be capable of safely sailing a dinghy in light winds.
Location SailCork's base at East Ferry near Cobh in Cork Harbour, with sheltered and safe waters suitable for sailing in all weather. Full facilities including a chartroom for briefings, changing rooms and easy access to the water for dinghies. Check out directions in advance. Eircode P24D681.
Equipment Included Boat. Buoyancy aid. Wetsuit available for hire if required.
What to bring 1. Wear wetsuit and booties from home. 2. Cag or rain jacket + pants 3. Change of clothes, runners and a towel in a bag, named. 4. Lunch in a plastic box and drink, named. 5. Sunblock named No phones or money allowed in the changing rooms. Please hand in to the Senior Instructor.
Meals Bring a packed lunch in a plastic box and a drink named. As we picnic some days, a plastic box is essential. Rubbish to be packed for disposal at home. We have a Leave no Trace policy as we respect the environment.
