Junior sailing, junior powerboating, junior yachting and junior adventure – SailCork at East Ferry Marina Cobh
Summer Camps begin June 22nd to August 28th 2015
Eddie English and the team at SailCork have been teaching fun sailing and watersports courses for nearly 40 years. Way back in the early 1970’s Eddie and his crew thought dinghy sailing to juniors at East Ferry and Cobh – now SailCork runs courses in dinghy sailing, cruiser sailing, powerboating and watersports adventure for juniors at the SailCork base at East Ferry in the tranquil north eastern corner of Cork Harbour.
Professional Learning Environment:
East Ferry in Cobh is an ideal location for sailing. Besides boasting excellent facilities for sailing and boating East Ferry Marina is the home of the Morlogue Inn. Ideal for parents to relax whilst our pupils prepare to go afloat! Sailing from East Ferry allows us the safety of using a marina and access to the safe, unspoilt waters of the Eastern Harbour.
Ashore: The shorebased sections of our courses take place using the most up to date teaching methods and equipment. The classroom philosophy is based on fun learning ashore linked directly to the sessions afloat where the pupils spend most of their time on our courses.
Afloat: Our "outdoor classroom" is Cork Harbour. We work in areas which provide a totally safe environment for teaching afloat. Most courses are run in the safe, shallow, sheltered waters of the Eastern Harbour under the watchful eye of our qualified instructors.
Cork Harbour has been the home of leisure sailing for over 300 years and the year is crammed with regattas and races with the emphasis on safety on the water and of course fun afloat and ashore!
Season: SailCork runs junior camps and courses almost all year round. We begin with a weeklong course during the February Mid term and run Junior courses every Saturday from then until the summer holidays. During the summer holidays we run weeklong courses and special club days each week. We also run special outings to Regattas and race days in Cork Harbour. Autumn brings more junior courses during Oct mid term and the Saturday Junior club continues right up to Christmas when we finish with a day out.
Junior Adventure Camps and Courses
