Eddie has trained the largest number of instructors in Ireland. He is a qualified schoolteacher and personally trains our instructors to the highest standards.
LOCATION: We are located in a very beautiful, picturesque part of Cork Harbour in East Ferry Marina. It is very safe both ashore and afloat. There are no busy streets or traffic. Whatever the weather, we can get afloat in the safe, sheltered waters at East Ferry. It is very quiet and situated less than 5k from Cobh town on the eastern edge of the Great Island. The Marlogue Inn Bar and Restaurant located on site.
SailCork can cater for groups up to 120. Min No 20. Groups are usually split in two - one half participating in activities ashore while the other half is afloat. Groups swop over at lunchtime to complete programme. Pupils gain an allround experience in rural surroundings enjoying a unique mix of outdoor activities and fun afloat with one of Irelands leading and longest established sailing schools."Last year my class and I went on a school tour to Eddie English's sailing school (SailCork) in Cobh. I found that the variety was excellent, with all children participating in three different water based activities. The craft were all well maintained and the staff were professional and, most importantly, fun! At the start of the day, us teachers were asked if we were willing to be dunked, and the staff were very respectful of our wishes. One teacher thoroughly enjoyed her day power-boating with her sunglasses on, while the more confident in the water joined in with the children and walked the plank! Non-participation is also an option. The children were well looked after throughout the day, and were physically challenged in a fun environment. The day covered the Outdoor and Adventure Activities Strand, and partially covered some of the Aquatics strand in the PE curriculum for primary schools."

Eddie English Blog
Galicia - Spain’s Celtic Atlantic outpost.
In preparing for our Passage Planning and Pilotage Course on Galicia in North Western Spain I was doing some research and it has brought memories flooding back from my many visits to Galicia. It is an absolutely fantastic place and with modern cruising boats being bigger the 500 mile journey is within reach of many Irish Yachtsmen.
In this blog I am hoping to spark an interest in these amazing cruising grounds .... and a gastronomic paradise for fish lovers.
