Marlogue Inn
The Marlogue Inn sits on the eastern shore of the Great Island in Cork Harbour just 4 miles east of Cobh. It commands a spectacular view of the body of water that separates the Great Island from the mainland - East Ferry. With a view directly over East Ferry Marina it is bounded on the land side by rich pastureland and the "Marlogue" wood.
Situated right next to SailCork's base it is perfect for lunch, dinner or that after sailing pint! The bar is open 7 days a week from 12:30 till late and food is available from 12:30 to 20:45. The varied mouthwatering menu specialises in steaks and seafood. The veranda is the ideal place to sit with a drink and enjoy the view or feast on a barbecue in the evening. Enjoy the full menu all day long or come and feel the atmosphere on regatta days and race evenings.

Why did the Costa Concordia sink?
The town of Cobh has been a port of call for ocean liners for over 150 years - now about 60 liners visit Cork Harbour each year- we all love the liners! Everybody in the maritime community was shocked last Friday night with the news of the grounding of the massive Italian cruise liner the Costa Concordia. I spent the weekend trawling the web to try to find out what really happened - this blog is the tragic story of the last voyage of the Costa Concordia on Friday the 13th of January 2012.
