The big B B Q for SailCork 35
We couldn't have asked for better weather on Saturday - we took 50 people afloat in the afternoon, some of us even got to Balinacurra with the dinghies. There was a great buzz for the Leinster game and what a result! The sunshine obliged and the beer flowed as we relaxed on the patio at the Marlogue Inn.
The food at the barbecue was fantastic and Martin Dowell and the "Rupp Band" kicked off the evenings celebrations. It was fantastic to see old faces and we had over 100 instructors, ex-instructors and friends who were in the mood for a great party! Grandad and the gang pumped out the music, Ollie and crew kept the beer flowing and the SailCork crew danced the night away ------------ we toasted the arrival of Justin Slattery and Green Dragon into Galway Bay on her way to 3rd position in the Transatlantic race.
It was really amazing that any of us were able to turn up for a fantastic days racing on Sunday - more about that later!
