SailCork 35 celebrations begin!
We had the best ever turn out for a Friday evening race on the Eastern bank - 18 boats. Dom Losty ran a great race with conditions obliging with 10-16kn form the SW.
It was great to see some Crosshaven and Monkstown boats as well as the Cobh fleet. Denis Murphy imported round the world skipper, Joe English, to be in charge of tactics and vocals, Mick Mulcahy's "Voyager" relished the conditions and we had a great sail aboard "Holy Grounder" In whites Wombat took the honours with Holy Grounder runner up. Pat Bruton sailed a strormer in kites and everyone was a winner ashore with the luxury of a courtesy car to bring us all home at the end of the evening!!

Last week "Holy Grounder" was on a mission prepping candidates for a Yachtmaster assessment- we sailed 60 miles inside the harbour in 3 days! We discovered some excellent new anchorages - including Fota - more on that later.
Congrats to John Innes, John Griffin and Peter Scallan on achieving their Yachtmaster aboard Holy Grounder with examiner Tony Kingston.
So .....time to go afloat with past pupils and instructors and continue this weekend of celebrating 35 years of teaching sailing - BEST wishes to past pupil/instructor JUSTIN SLATTERY aboard GREEN DRAGON - lying 2nd with less than 300 miles to go to Galway!!!!!!!!!!
