SailCork has been involved in watersports training and holidays since 1974 in Cobh and on the south coast of Ireland and is run by Eddie English. The English family has been involved in seafaring in Cobh for 5 generations. Eddie has been teaching sailing since 1969 and is one of the most experienced instructors in the sport. He is a Dinghy and Powerboat Senior Instructor and Trainer and has been training instructors for over 30 years. He is also a qualified school teacher and has lectured at college.
Eddie is also a yachtmaster instructor /examiner. He began his offshore experience in his early teens and has and races dinghies and cruisers. He sails on cruisers in competes in many major regattas around the world and cruises thousands of miles each year.
SailCork and Covid procedures We are delighted to be back afloat and to see some loyal past customers and new customers joining us for some clean, healthy fun and training afloat.
In order to protect our Instructors, our customers and ourselves, we ask that you comply with our procedures.
On arrival, please wait at the bottom of the steps to be called. Maintain 2m social distancing. You will be directed to your pod or group and your Instructor.
Please use the hand sanitisers.
Wash hands with soap on arrival and before departure.
You will be asked some covid related questions which we will record on our specially designed app. This information will be deleted after 14 days.
Temperature checks daily. Wear a mask.
You are asked to bring your own sailing gear . We will supply saniitised lifejackets or buoyancy aids as appropriate.
Juniors are to put wetsuits on at home and arrive ready to go afloat.
Access to changing rooms is restricted and this is supervised by the SI.
Proton sanitiser sprays are issued to each Instructor to wipe down equipment throughout the courses.

This course is intended for those who wish to be familiar with the working of the VHF radio and to obtain a Short Range VHF Radio Cert (SRC).
The aim of this course is to introduce candidates to the techniques and skills used in powerboats which are:
escorting racing fleets of dinghies, windsurfers and canoes,
providing safety and rescue cover for training fleets, and
assisting in race management duties.
