Objective Achieve the RYA Pre-Cruising Instructor Course standard. Demonstrate competency in operation and background knowledge of cruising yachts.
Location SailCork's base at East Ferry in Cork Harbour, with waters suitable for sailing in all weathers. Full facilities including a chartroom for briefings, changing rooms marina.
Equipment Included The Boat has full safety equipment, all nav. aids and powerful engines. The safety equipment includes lifejackets and harnesses for each crew member.
What to bring Soft bag with change of warm clothes. Your own sailing waterproofs. Notebook, pen, navigation tools, hand held compass, knife, your yachting logbook.
Meals Most meals are pre-prepared by our qualified Galley Cook. Nothing better than sitting at the table in the saloon for a meal with fellow crewmembers after a hard day's sailing!
Syllabus

Assessment on Chartwork, tides. Position, course to steer, passage planning,, pilotage, collision regulation, weather, boat handling under sail & power, passage making.

Pre Course Skills & knowledge in excess of Yachtmaster Offshore (Sail). Commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence.
Pre Course Advice Study and be familiar with the full Cruising Scheme and syllabus of each course. Brush up on all skills.
