Objective | Gain an insight into Cork Harbour, particularly the nooks and crannys off the beaten track. |
Location | The chartroom at SailCork's base at East Ferry near Cobh. Also in your local club. |
What to bring | A4 Notebook, pens, 2B pencils, eraser, sharpener. You will also need a Plotter or Parallel Rulers, Nautical Dividers and an Almanac. Also bring your own charts of Cork Harbour. |
Syllabus | Syllabus includes crew and boat preparation, destination research including pilotage, chartwork and shoreside. Navigational planning- including chartwork, tide work, best routes and alternative destinations. Met. information before and during trip, safety aspects, customs and legal requirements. |
