Course director Eddie English is an ISA/RYA Yachtmaster Examiner. Eddie's teaching expertise is recognised worldwide having sailed all over Europe, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the USA, Australia and the Pacific.   Eddie (who had hundreds of thousands of miles at sea under his belt) motors, sails and races thousands of miles every year and passes on his experience in our classes. Eddie is a full time Yachtmaster Instructor continually updating his skills and pioneered the current teaching scheme in use in Ireland. Cork and our Wednesday Night Day Skipper will be at the Royal Cork yacht Club in Crosshaven and in Waterford city. 

Other Navigation Courses: For complete beginners we run our Basic Navigation Course and for experienced navigators we run the Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased Course.

The navigation courses at SailCork are unique to Ireland in that they embrace the syllabi of the ISA and the RYA as well as extra additions by SailCork using our unique experience of running this course for over 30 years. Remember we are a fulltime training establishment with full time lecturers -we are Ireland's longest establioshed navigation school -  no school in Ireland can rival our experience!

Boat Totally classroom based
Length of Course 16 evenings Oct to Mar. Option Glounthaune or RCYC Crosshaven. New in 2020: Weekends at RCYC Feb 15,16,22,29+Mar1.
Objective You will be capable of planning and executing coastal and inshore navigation in daylight hours.
Location Tuesdays evenings : Elm Tree, Glounthaune, Co. Cork Wednesdays evenings: Royal Cork Yacht Club Crosshaven Co. Cork. Weekend Courses (spring) at Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven. Also available for groups in your local club - contact SailCork for details.
Equipment Included RYA pack containing course book and exercise booklet, practice charts and electronic nav disc available on the first evening
What to bring A4 Notebook + folder, pens, highlighter, 2B pencils, eraser, sharpener. Course pack for the course will be available to buy on the first evening : books, plotter, dividers etc. €100.
