Course director Eddie English is an ISA/RYA Yachtmaster Examiner. Eddie's teaching expertise is recognised worldwide having sailed all over Europe, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the USA, Australia and the Pacific. Eddie (who had hundreds of thousands of miles at sea under his belt) motors, sails and races thousands of miles every year and passes on his experience in our classes. Eddie is a full time Yachtmaster Instructor continually updating his skills and pioneered the current teaching scheme in use in Ireland. Our venues are chosen because of their central locations and comfortable surroundings. We will be running our Tuesday Night Day Skipper at the Elm Tree, Glounthaune, Co. Cork and our Wednesday Night Day Skipper will be at the Royal Cork yacht Club in Crosshaven and in Waterford city.
Other Navigation Courses: For complete beginners we run our Basic Navigation Course and for experienced navigators we run the Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased Course.
The navigation courses at SailCork are unique to Ireland in that they embrace the syllabi of the ISA and the RYA as well as extra additions by SailCork using our unique experience of running this course for over 30 years. |Equipment Included||Special Exercise pack RYA course notes book, course exercises, 2 practice charts and a which includes charts, an electronic chart plotter and a full tutorial.|
|What to bring||A4 Notebook, pens, 2B pencils, eraser, sharpener. You will also need a Plotter or Parallel Rulers, Nautical Dividers and a Training Almanac. You may wish to purchase some extra books on navigation, meteorology etc - these and all of the above items are all available from SailCork which has a very comprehensive stock or nautical publications and charts.|
