Course director Eddie English is an ISA/RYA Yachtmaster Examiner. Eddie's reputation is recognised worldwide having sailed in Europe, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the USA, Australia and the Pacific. Edddie is supported by Captain Anthony Mulcahy and Yachtmaster Instructor and Senior Powerboat Instructor,Peter Scallan.  Admin and office support from Jo English and Shirley Scandrett. 

In 2020 we will introduce our new Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Shorebased course schedule.  We will use a blended approach meaning most classes will be online and recorded. Attendance is required for some classes. Some subjects need personal tuition. We cherish getting to know our customers who become our friends. As a training establishment, our reward is the proud feeling of awarding our students their certificate at our annual dinner.

Length of Course 16 evenings Oct to Mar.
Objective You will be capable of planning and executing coastal and inshore navigation in daylight hours.
Location Online and venues for tutorials to be announced.
Equipment Included RYA pack containing course book and exercise booklet, practice charts and electronic nav disc available at first class.
What to bring A4 Notebook + folder, pens, highlighter, 2B pencils, eraser, sharpener. Course pack for the course will be available to buy on the first evening : books, plotter, dividers etc. €100.
Syllabus

We are continually updating our courses to take into account developments in technology and the electronic navigation aids now available on most cruising boats.

Nautical terms, Ropework, Anchorwork, Safety, Rules, Position, Charts(paper and electronic),  Navigational Publications, Navigational Instruments, Compass, Chartwork, Tides (Heights and Streams), Visual Aids to Navigation, Meteorology, Passage Planning, Navigation in Restricted Visibility, Pilotage and the Marine Environment.

Pre Course Advice Allow approx 3-4 hours extra for completing exercises and study.
