Building on existing skills of the National Powerboat Certificate and Powerboat Coxswain this course is aimed at the commercial and passenger powerboat coxswain who intends to operate in a more challenging environment both in daylight and in darkness.

|Boat||6.5m Excalibur RIB 120hp Mercruiser inboard diesel engine, 5.5 m Humber RIB 90hp Honda four stroke engine.|
|Length of Course||2 days and one night|
|Objective||You will be capable of helming in challenging conditions in coastal and inshore waters both by day and night and understand the responsibilities of a passenger boat skipper.|
|Location||SailCork's base at East Ferry in Cork Harbour, with waters suitable for powerboating in all weathers. Full facilities including a chartroom for briefings, changing rooms, easy access to the water for dinghies and marina for larger boats.|
|What to bring||Your personal powerboating gear, suitable for powerboating in all conditions. Lifejacket with light (not buoyancy aid). Notebook and pen. Whistle and knife. Powerboat logbook|
|Meals||Bring a packed lunch as well as snack and drink for mid morning.|
Boat preparation, passage planning, weather, passage making (day & night), advanced boat handling. Passenger safety and safety briefings. Role of Commercial Skipper. Includes endorsements for planing, outdrive, outboard, console control and tiller control.
|Pre Course||National Powerboat Certificate or equivalent. Experience in use of powerboat in various environments or Powerboat Coxswain Certificate. Coastal Navigation for Small Boats or equivalent.|
