Teenage Cruiser Sailing
Fun afloat on our Teenage Cruiser Courses!
Come sailing with us on the yacht "Holy Grounder" - Beneteau
Sailcork specialises in training teenagers (13-17 years) on Yachts to become Competent Crew members. We schedule courses during school term, school breaks and holidays. It is ideal for giving bored teenagers an activity whereby they learn a new life-long skill. They become useful and interested in the family or friend’s boat and become an asset onboard. Who knows, it may be the beginning of a new career ! What better way to learn the ropes, than from Eddie English who is teaching sailing to students ages 3 to 85 for the last 40 years.

Why did the Costa Concordia sink?
The town of Cobh has been a port of call for ocean liners for over 150 years - now about 60 liners visit Cork Harbour each year- we all love the liners! Everybody in the maritime community was shocked last Friday night with the news of the grounding of the massive Italian cruise liner the Costa Concordia. I spent the weekend trawling the web to try to find out what really happened - this blog is the tragic story of the last voyage of the Costa Concordia on Friday the 13th of January 2012.
